The information from Financiarul states that Constantin Ostahie finally sold ALTEX (one of the biggest retailers in Romania). The buyer is “Bomenveld BV” from Amsterdam – Netherlands but the newspaper states that Ostahie is still behind the company as he remained the only administrator.
The transaction was very discreet as it happened on the 28th of December 2006 and I haven’t seen any press release until now.
Many specialists say that the Romanian retailers will not survive on the European market and negotiations have been carried out since 2004-2005. We’ll probably see another transaction in the near future.
