Antena3 launches the new website after almost one month of tests and adjustments. The mastermind behind the new project is Romulus Coman (Roco) and Antena3.ro is special because it is the first Romanian news website built with its readers.
What’s next? Antena3.ro will become the no.1 news website in Romania.
Congratulations to Roco, Cornel and to their online team.
This is the first major online news that involves IAA. If you don’t know (yet), IAA is the International Advertising Association, a “one-of-a-kind global network” with more than 4,000 members, 56 chapters, 76 countries. IAA’s members are top players from the marcomm industry and that’s why this press release is important.

Online advertising expenditure has grown for more than 80% of European advertisers this year (study by the European Interactive Advertising Association – Brand Republic report).
Key figures in The EIAA Marketers’ Internet Ad Barometer:
- -82% of advertisers in question decreased other types of advertising (print, TV, direct marketing);
- -display ads account for 28% of ad expenditure;
- -search and affiliate ads correspond to 35% and 25% of ad spend;
- -59 % of advertisers said they would invest more in display;
- -80% of advertisers said they would be doing the same for search ads;
In the last weeks I talked with Romanian online players worried about the actual world economic crisis and if it’s going to impact the online advertising budgets in 2009. Probably not, since Romania still has a strong emerging market. Still, this is a good moment to see some predictions and global trends – one interesting report is saying that US Internet ad revenue is expected to exceed US$120 billion by 2011 (according to MultiMedia Intelligence World Digital Media Trends 2008 report, released by SFN and the World Association of Newspapers).
