Claudiu Gamulescu will be the headmaster of the new E-Academy (Internet School) in Varna, Bulgaria. More about his new foreign project at Marketing Innovation Forum Sofia 2008 and on his blog.
I met Sorel Radu a couple of weeks ago and we had a friendly and very interesting chat about Internet, local websites and some of his new plans for the local market. It was a private meeting – although he is managing the sales for Realitatea Catavencu (3rd largest media group in Romania), he gave me a business card presenting himself as “consultant & coach”.

The online advertising market in Romania is estimated at 15 mil eur for 2008. Boom is the first agency to publish its figures for the first 5 months in a special report published by AdPlayers (I see Iulian Toma is up and running ).

- Alexis Bonte now owns 51% of Trilulilu.ro (300.000 eur investment coming up, Sergiu & his crocodiles already have the million in their pockets).
- Darren Patterson, the first Australian business development director at Yahoo! Europe, came in Romania for a short visit (I hear Bobby Voicu presented him some great parts of Bucharest but they missed The Palace of the Parliament). Yahoo.ro is scheduled to be launched by the end of 2008.
Laurentiu Pop is now deputy managing director and will team with Bianca Vlaston (EurActiv.ro/HotNews.ro) at Httpool Romania (news via Doru). Httpool is an interactive full service agency with a different approach and a new business model for Romania.
Their target (250.000 eur) for 2009 is achievable for Laurentiu – he used to play with millions
Bobby Voicu is now Community Manager for Yahoo Romania. I was happy to find out this news – Bobby was really worried last time we met (and using only one foot )
Laurentiu Pop had a terrible tooth ache this week and missed a great event. He left Initiative Media and probably in a few days he’ll announce his new job (something big, yet fun )
